This is a synthetic ruby, precision-cut by Sri Lankan lapidary Sanje. It features a striking lozenge cut with a sharp diamond shape, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful brilliance created by facets radiating from the center. Expertly cut, it minimizes color loss when viewed from the front.
The Verneuil process is a traditional method for synthesizing gemstones in which powdered raw materials are melted by a high-temperature flame to grow crystals. Synthetic rubies created via the Verneuil process have the same corundum base as natural rubies, and their properties—such as basic chemical composition, crystal structure, and hardness—are nearly identical to those of natural rubies. While not a natural gemstone, it offers the vivid color and transparency characteristic of a ruby.
