Tourmaline is known as a treasure trove of color. Its name is derived from the Sinhalese word "turmali," meaning "various colors." Among them, green specimens like this one are called "green tourmaline." It’s hard not to want to collect tourmaline in every color. CuO: 0.7%, MnO: 1.4%, Fe₂O₃: 1.4%. Although purchased as Paraiba tourmaline, it has been classified as iron-bearing tourmaline because it contains more iron than copper.
