Tourmaline is often called a "treasure trove of color." Its name originates from the Sinhalese word "turmali," which is said to mean "a stone of many colors." True to its name, it is a gemstone with such diverse hues that it’s hard to resist collecting them in every color.This particular tourmaline is striking for its fresh, bluish-green tone. Purchased as Paraiba tourmaline, a compositional analysis revealed the following: 0.7% CuO, 1.4% MnO, and 1.4% Fe₂O₃. While it does contain copper, the iron content exceeds the copper content, making for an interesting analytical result.There are inclusions visible inside, but they only add to the expressive character of this stone, allowing you to enjoy the unique depth of color that only tourmaline can offer.
