Sapphire is a well-known gemstone. Although it is the same mineral as ruby, corundum, all corundum that is not red is called sapphire. This is a violet sapphire with a bluish-purple color. Sapphire, with a hardness of 9, is the second hardest gemstone after diamond, and is also highly tough and stable, making it an easy gemstone to care for.
This Tanzanian sapphire was purchased as unheated, but no unheated inspection has been performed. It comes with a鑑別書 (gem identification report). Please note that the report may state "heating is generally performed," but this does not mean that heat treatment has been confirmed; it is a phrase used when, for example, no inspection has been conducted to guarantee that it is unheated.
