A moonstone that looks as if it is being hit by a spotlight in the center. This bright optical effect, resembling the glow of the moon, is characteristic of moonstone. A penlight was used for photography.
This is a moonstone from Uva, Sri Lanka, which has only been produced in recent years. Purchased as rough stone and polished into a special round cut by Sri Lankan artisan Mr. Sanje, this moonstone possesses a brilliant luster.
