[Available 9/3, 10 PM] Sri Lankan Purple Sapphire 0.258ct Loose Gemstone with Identification Report
Sapphire is a world-famous gemstone that needs no introduction. While it shares the same mineral composition as ruby—corundum—all corundum that is not red is classified as sapphire. This piece is a purple sapphire. With a hardness of 9, sapphire is the second hardest gemstone after diamond, and it is also highly durable and stable, making it easy to care for.
This stone was purchased as rough in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, and cut by Sri Lankan gem cutter Mr. Sanje. It boasts high clarity and the brilliant sparkle expected of a sapphire. Although purchased as unheated, it has not undergone formal non-heated testing. Please note that while a lab report may state "normally heated," this does not mean heating has been confirmed; rather, it is a phrase often used when no specific testing for non-heated status has been conducted. For more details, please refer to "Gemstones That Are Generally Heat-Treated."
