The beautiful green of emeralds is said to vary in color depending on their origin. This is a Zambian emerald, which is said to have a bluer hue compared to the famous Colombian emeralds. The difference in color is due to the coloring agents; Colombian emeralds owe their color to chromium, while Zambian emeralds are attributed to vanadium. Emeralds are generally treated with oil impregnation, but this is a rare, untreated, non-oiled emerald that has not undergone such a process.
This particular Zambian non-oiled emerald is transparent and deeply colored. It comes with a鑑別書 (identification report).
