Sale price¥18,800

Opal, a gemstone characterized by its shimmering rainbow-colored light. There are several types of opals, but among them, cantera opal is popular among collectors. It evokes the dynamism of the earth and has many enthusiasts, and is a gemstone that can be fully enjoyed even as a loose stone. Cantera opal is inherently a gemstone with many "cans" (holes/cavities). The photography was done using a penlight.

This is a cantera opal from Mexico. Its beautiful play-of-color is a charm, and it comes with an appraisal report from the Japan-Germany Gemological Laboratory. This cantera opal has undergone a rare impregnation treatment. This is a reinforcement treatment where resin is impregnated to prevent the play-of-color portion from separating from the host rock and to enhance durability, and this is noted in the appraisal report.
