Sapphire, a well-known gem. While the mineral is corundum, the same as ruby, all corundum that is not red is called sapphire. This is a purple sapphire. With a hardness of 9, second only to diamond, sapphire is a highly durable and stable gemstone that is easy to care for.
This silky purple sapphire was carefully polished by Sri Lankan master polisher Mr. Sanje on site, from a sapphire rough purchased in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. It boasts high transparency and a beautiful sparkle. The cut is meticulously executed, with no windowing when viewed from the front. An identification report is included.
