Sapphire is a famous gemstone that needs no introduction. Its mineral is corundum, the same as ruby, but all corundum that is not red is called sapphire. This is a pink sapphire with a sharp, vibrant pink hue. With a hardness of 9, second only to diamond, sapphire is a highly durable and stable gemstone that is easy to care for. This particular stone features a silky purple-pink color, cut by Sri Lankan lapidary Mr. Sanje. An identification report is included.
