Chrysoberyl is a gemstone with a rich variety of colors, ranging from pale yellow and green to dark brown. It has high hardness and excellent durability.This is a chrysoberyl cat's eye that was purchased directly as rough stone in Ratnapura, a leading gemstone-producing area in Sri Lanka, and polished locally. We have carefully selected stones with high transparency that exhibit a clear, distinct cat's eye effect when light is applied. A penlight was used in the photography to make the cat's eye effect easier to see. The back of the stone is generally left unpolished.
