Sapphire, a universally recognized and famous gemstone. While the mineral is corundum, just like ruby, all corundum that is not red is called sapphire. This particular stone is a classic blue sapphire. With a hardness of 9, sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness, and its high toughness and stability make it an easy-to-care-for gemstone.
This blue sapphire was carefully polished by Sri Lankan master polisher Mr. Sanje in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, from rough sapphire acquired there. It boasts high transparency and beautiful brilliance. The cut is meticulous, showing no color zoning when viewed from the front. Its soft and elegant hue, reminiscent of cornflower blue, is also a charming feature. An appraisal certificate is included.
