Alexandrite from Madagascar, 0.450ct Loose Stone, GIA

Alexandrite is often hailed as the "King of Gems." Known as the "emerald by day, ruby by night," this mysterious stone changes color from green to bluish-green in sunlight or fluorescent light, to red or purplish-red under incandescent light. Its dramatic color change is highly prized among gemstones and continues to captivate many gem enthusiasts.

While Brazilian and Russian alexandrite are well-known, this stone is from Madagascar, a source with limited distribution. Alexandrite from Madagascar is scarce, making it a rare find on the market. Although it contains inclusions, this attractive stone displays a strong color change, shifting dramatically from green hues to reddish-purple depending on the light source. When observed under a light, you can also enjoy the unique inclusions spreading throughout its interior. Beyond the color shift, we highly recommend observing its inner world with a loupe. Please use a red-light penlight to fully enjoy its color-changing properties. A GIA identification report is included.

※ While we strive to ensure that the photos reflect the true color of the item, they may appear slightly different depending on the lighting conditions during photography or your monitor settings. Some photos may have been taken using a penlight.

※ For items showing UV fluorescence, photos were taken using a 365nm wavelength blacklight. If you use a light with a different wavelength (e.g., around 395nm), the fluorescence may appear weaker or be difficult to verify. The blacklight we use can be found here.
