Malawi Moonstone 2.086 ct Loose

A type of feldspar found in Malawi, southeastern Africa. It is characterized by fine, rainbow-colored light streaks appearing within transparent crystals. While common moonstone and rainbow moonstone display a surface adularescence, Malawi-sourced moonstone is appealing for the way the rainbow-colored light appears to enter the interior of the crystal. This iridescence is caused by light interference from slight distortions or layered structures within the crystal, creating an impressive appearance with band-like brilliance extending in a consistent direction. The contrast between transparency and iridescence is beautiful, and those with particularly good color are rare due to limited production. Please enjoy the unique play of light in each piece.
This is a Malawi Moonstone with a rainbow glow appearing at certain angles in highly transparent crystals. You can enjoy its fresh transparency and fantastic play of light.
