Medusa Quartz, a gemstone that contains inclusions of the mineral Gilalite within its crystal. It is sometimes simply called Gilalite in Quartz, but the GIA named it 'Medusa Quartz' because the inclusions resembled jellyfish, or "Medusa Jellyfish". It also has several other nicknames, such as 'Paraiba Quartz,' because its beautiful blue color is reminiscent of Paraiba Tourmaline, and because it was discovered in the Brazilian state of Paraiba, the origin of Paraiba Tourmaline.
