Chrysoberyl is a stone with a rich variety of shades, from pale yellow to green and dark brown. It is a highly durable gemstone with high hardness. This particular stone exhibits a cat's eye effect, and a penlight was used for photography. The back of the stone is essentially unpolished.

This is a highly transparent Chrysoberyl Cat's Eye from Ratnapura, purchased locally in Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan lapidary artisan Mr. Sanje has given it a round cabochon cut that beautifully showcases the cat's eye effect. A round shape is relatively rare for Chrysoberyl Cat's Eye, combining both charm and presence.
