2.808ct Malawi Moonstone Loose

A type of feldspar produced in Malawi, southeastern Africa. It is characterized by fine, iridescent streaks of light appearing within a translucent crystal. While common moonstones and rainbow moonstones are admired for the schiller on their surface, Malawian moonstones are attractive for the way the iridescent light appears to penetrate deep within the crystal. This iridescence is caused by light interference due to slight distortions or layered structures within the crystal, creating a striking appearance with impressive band-like brilliance that spreads in a certain direction. The contrast between the translucency and the iridescence is beautiful, and those with particularly good color are rare due to limited production. We invite you to enjoy the unique play of light in each stone.
