Montana sapphire began when Dr. J.F. Kunz, then Vice President of Tiffany & Co., certified blue rough stones found in Montana's Yogo Gulch as sapphires. While there are several deposits, this particular stone is from Yogo, often considered the birthplace of Montana sapphires. Yogo primarily produces blue to violet sapphires. As the mine is now closed, these rare stones are no longer being extracted. Comes with an analysis report and origin identification certificate from the Japan Germany Gemmological Laboratory.
