Quartz, known as Suishou in Japanese, is a familiar stone in Japan, but it is also a profound stone with an exceptionally wide variety of types, such as amethyst and citrine. This quartz, with its red "flower petals" dancing within, is called Tinkerbell Quartz or Pink Fire Quartz. To clearly show the inclusions inside, it was photographed using a penlight.
This is a highly transparent Brazilian Tinkerbell Quartz, cut by Sri Lankan master polisher Mr. Sanje.
