Garnet is famous as the birthstone for January. In fact, it comes in a variety of colors, including red, yellow, orange, and green. This is a pale green mint garnet. It fluoresces a vibrant orange when exposed to black light. Please use a black light to enjoy the fluorescence. Fluorescent photos are taken in a darkroom under a strong black light. If you are viewing the fluorescence at home, you can enjoy the beautiful fluorescence by darkening the room or covering the gemstone with the palm of your hand.
