












Sri Lankan star sapphire 3.317ct loose
Sapphire is a well-known stone. This particular type shows a star effect. With a hardness of 9, sapphire is the second hardest gemstone after diamond, and is also tough, stable, and easy to care for. A penlight was used for the photo. The back of the stone is generally unpolished.
This is a violet-colored star sapphire from Sri Lanka. It is not opaque, but rather transparent.
