A moonstone that looks as if a spotlight is shining in the center. This bright optical effect, resembling the glow of the moon, is the defining characteristic of moonstone. A penlight was used for photography.
This is a moonstone from Uva, Sri Lanka, that was produced only recently. Purchased as rough stone and polished into a special cut by Sri Lankan artisan Mr. Sanje, this moonstone possesses a brilliant luster.
