Sapphire is a famously well-known gemstone. The mineral is corundum, the same as ruby, but all corundum that is not red is called sapphire. This is the most orthodox blue sapphire. With a hardness of 9, sapphire is the second hardest gemstone after diamond, and it is also a gemstone with high toughness and stability, making it easy to care for.
This blue sapphire was cut by the Sri Lankan lapidary Mr. Sanje. It has been meticulously cut so that there is no loss of color when viewed from the front.
