Zircon is the world's oldest mineral. It is a stone with a wide variety of colors, a high birefringence, and a characteristic called "doubling," which gives it a brilliant shine. This is a rare bicolor zircon from Malawi. It is rarely found in Japan.

The inclusions are visible due to the 44x magnification, but are not noticeable to the naked eye.
