Benitoite is said to be one of the three rarest stones in America. It has the strong brilliance of a diamond and the beautiful blue of a sapphire, making it a very attractive gemstone. It was discovered near the San Benito River in California in the 1900s, and is characterized by its strong light dispersion.
This is an oval-cut benitoite with high transparency and beautiful color.
