Pakistani Aragonite 3.086ct loose stone
The Japanese name for aragonite is araishi (hailstone). It is so named because calcium carbonate is formed in the shape of small hailstones falling from the sky. Its Mohs hardness is 3.5 to 4, which is a little low. Its hardness is such that caution is required when wearing it all the time in a ring. It has a beautiful glass-like luster. This is a cabochon-cut blue aragonite.
