[E_25 Yurakucho Marui Take-out] Kasharai Amethyst 0.756ct Loose
This amethyst was depleted in the short four years between 2000 and 2004 at the Kasharai mine in Rondônia, Brazil. Kasharai amethyst is a vivid deep purple, and is also known as color-shifting amethyst because it turns reddish purple in warm light. It was originally discovered when mining development began in search of the rare metal tantalum ore, and when it was first brought to Japan, it was so beautiful in appearance and had similar infrared absorption properties that it was suspected to be synthetic amethyst.
This is a Kasharai amethyst cut by Sri Lankan cutter Sanjay.
