Moss agate is a mysterious stone that looks as if plants have entered the stone. The patterns resemble moss, underwater algae, and some have a deep green color that resembles tree branches or forests. Moss agate is a polycrystalline form of quartz. Its Japanese name is "agate" and there are records of it being mined in Japan. This is a loose stone cut by Sri Lankan cutter Sanjay.
