Sinhalite is one of the "three great gemstones discovered in the 20th century." It is a relatively new mineral that was only discovered in the 1950s. It is a rare gemstone that exhibits "pleochroism," where different colors appear when viewed from different angles, and "doubling," where the letters appear doubled when the stone is placed on top of them. This loose stone was cut by Sri Lankan cutter Sanjay. This is a 0.706ct loose Sinhalite stone from Sri Lanka.
