Aragonite 20.596ct loose

The Japanese name for aragonite is aragonite. It is so called because calcium carbonate is formed in the shape of small hailstones falling from the sky. Mohs hardness is slightly lower at 3.5 to 4. It is hard enough that you need to be careful if you wear it all the time as a ring. It has a beautiful glass-like luster. Fluorescent under black light.
