Montana sapphire began when Dr. J.F. Kunz, then a vice president at Tiffany & Co., proved that a blue rough stone found in Yogo Valley in Montana was sapphire. There are several deposits, and the trends differ depending on the location, but overall it is characterized by high transparency and many fancy colors.
Round cut 1.9mm. Montana Sapphire (Rock Creek Mine) purchased directly from the mine owner.
