Aragonite from Afghanistan 14.691ct loose with patch
The Japanese name for aragonite is araishi (hailstone). It is so named because calcium carbonate forms in the shape of small hailstones falling from the sky. Its Mohs hardness is 3.5 to 4, which is a little low. Its hardness is such that caution is required when wearing it all the time in a ring. It has a beautiful glass-like luster.
This is a chairman's cut loose stone cut by the chairman of Shimizu Precious Stones, which is famous for its Sakura in cut and Dandelion cut .
