Synthetic rutile appeared on the market in the late 1940s as a diamond substitute. Its hardness is low at 6, and it has stronger dispersion than diamond (it is more brilliant than diamond), so it was only used as a substitute for a short period of time.

This is a dandelion cut from Shimizu Kiseki. It is a synthetic rutile 7mm. Synthetic rutile is currently in short supply, and is difficult to polish and takes a lot of time, so it is difficult to provide a stable supply of this stone.
