Idocrase 0.28ct loose (red purple type)
Rare stone, Idocrase. This stone has a pale green color and a light green color that gives it a mature appeal. It is also sometimes called by the mineral name vesuvianite, but it refers to the same thing. Large crystals are rarely produced, and gem quality ones are rare. Please be sure to add it to your collection.
A rare red-purple idocrase.
Generally green colors are produced by iron and titanium, but pink, red, and red purple colors are thought to be produced by manganese. For this reason, it is sometimes called "manganese vesuvianite."
It is also attractive that it looks bi-colored depending on the angle. It's so cute that it reminds me of the two-colored candies I used to eat when I was little.
