The famous stone sapphire is a well-known gemstone. It is made from the same mineral corundum as ruby, but all corundum other than red is called sapphire. This is the most orthodox blue sapphire. Sapphire has a hardness of 9, making it the second hardest gemstone after diamond, and is also highly tough and stable, making it easy to care for.

This is a 5ct blue sapphire purchased in Chanthaburi, Thailand, with high transparency and enjoyable color zoning.
