Ammolite is attractive for its stained glass-like colors, such as red, green, and sometimes blue and violet. It is an organic gemstone formed from the fossilization of ammonites, which became almost extinct 66 million years ago. It has a Mohs hardness of 3.5 and is easily scratched. It is also weak to heat and chemicals, so please clean it with a soft cloth. This is a 5.886ct loose ammolite from Canada.
