American Neptunite 0.359ct Loose Stone, Japan-Germany Mirror
Neptunite is a rare mineral named after Neptune, the Roman god of the sea, and was discovered in San Benito, California, along with blue benitoite. It once attracted attention for its symbiosis with benitoite, but now that production of benitoite is declining, neptunite from San Benito, USA, is also becoming rare.
Neptunite coexists with benitoite. It is not generally polished into a loose stone, but this neptunite was polished by requesting the owner of the benitoite mine directly. Because it is a very difficult stone to polish, it is rarely distributed as a loose stone. It comes with a certificate of identification from the Japan-Germany Gemological Institute.
