Because of its beautiful color, it was named ``celestite'', which means sky stone. It is also called Celestine, which means sky blue. The Japanese name is celestial stone. Most of them are light blue with a slight gray tinge, but there are also transparent and reddish brown ones. It is rarely made into gemstones due to its low hardness and strong cleavage. This is a rare gem quality polished celestite. It is polished from old stock rough stone and has a large size of 7ct. A certificate of identification from the Japan-German Gem Research Institute is included.
