[Konpeito] Fluorite 4.490ct loose

Sale price¥22,800

Fluorite is popular among collectors because of its wide variety of colors. Its Japanese name is "Horuseki", which comes from the Latin word for "to melt, to flow". Apparently, when the stone is heated strongly, it emits a pale blue light. I'd like to try it.

This is the "Konpeito" that has been a hot topic on social media. It is a work by Makoto Nakano, a lecturer at Yamanashi Prefectural College of Jewelry and Art (Jewelry School), and is also very famous as a gem polisher in Japan. Each piece is carved one by one with a gem engraving machine, taking into consideration the placement of the protrusions, and it takes a day to make one piece. Please see here for details.
