It is a mineral that belongs to the feldspar group and is an intermediate between andesine and labradorite.
Many exhibit optical effects similar to labradorite.
Those that show a rainbow-colored light on their surface when exposed to light are called "Rainbow Moonstone," and those that show a blue light are called "Blue Moonstone."
