garnet

Garnet is the birthstone for January. Garnet may have a strong impression of being a red gemstone, but it is actually a gemstone that comes in a wide variety of colors and types, including red, orange, pink, yellow, green, and brown. Some of them have a color change effect, where the color appears to change depending on the light source. The origin of the name is said to be from the Latin word "granatus" (pomegranate), and the Japanese name is "zakuroishi".
