Triplite takes its name from the Greek word "triplos". As its name suggests, it is one of the rare stones that has the rare property of cleaving in three directions. This gemstone has a Mohs hardness of 5 to 5.5, which is not that high, and it has good cleavage. Please feel free to use it for viewing.
It is a loose triplite with a color similar to padparadscha sapphire. It has high transparency, and this color is a rare type with little distribution even in Japan. A certificate of identification from the Japan-German Gem Research Institute is included.
