Quartz, known in Japanese as 'suisho' (crystal), is a stone that is familiar in Japan, but it is also a deep stone with an outstanding number of varieties, including amethyst and citrine. As the name suggests, this is quartz with oil inside the stone. When exposed to black light, the inclusions glow blue with fluorescence, creating a truly fantastical appearance. This is a 0.522ct loose oil in quartz from Pakistan with a faceted cut that has moving bubbles. It was cut by Sanjay, a Sri Lankan polisher.
