The lottery sale will feature 14 rare stones in total, including unheated cornflower blue sapphires and twin star sapphires from Sri Lanka, with the main focus on works by Takeshi Yamamoto, a first-class gemstone polisher and Yamanashi Prefecture Jewelry Master who is still creating a variety of pieces at over 80 years old.

▶About Takeshi Yamamoto
Born in 1936, Yamamoto began working at his uncle's glass polishing factory in his teens, and at the age of 24, he went independent. He began working on polishing smoky quartz to be exported to America, and began his path as a gemstone polisher. He was certified as a first-class gemstone polisher in 1987 and a Yamanashi Prefecture Jewelry Master in 1997. He has created many original cuts, including the "shell cut," "natural cut," "crossover cut," "symmetry," and "fire flower," and has received numerous awards. Some contests have even been stopped because Yamamoto was winning every time.
