This amethyst was depleted in a short period of four years from 2000 to 2004 at the Cacharai mine in Rondônia, Brazil. Kashalai Amethyst is a vivid deep purple color, and it is also called color shift amethyst because it turns reddish-purple in warm light. It was originally discovered when mining began in search of the rare metal tantalum ore, and when it was first brought to Japan, it was synthesized due to its extremely beautiful appearance and similar infrared absorption properties.
