Rhodochrosite is a lovely gemstone that ranges from strawberry-red to pink. It is a relatively new gemstone that first appeared on the market in 1940. The name comes from the Greek rhodes, meaning "rose", and chros, meaning "color".

This is loose South African rhodochrosite made by Shimizu Kiseki's Sakura Incut . This is a very rare Sakura incut polished from old stock South African rhodochrosite. A special patch is included.
