Osamu Tezuka
& Princess Knight
This is the first issue of Japanese story girls' manga.
Knight of the Ribbon began serialization in the January issue of 1953 (Showa 28) in "Shoujo Club".
Osamu Tezuka brought manga that not only provided laughter but also had an eventful story to magazines for girls, which until then had focused on reading material.
Girls at the time were completely captivated by the thrilling developments each time, and it had a great influence on the girls' manga artists that came after it, making it a turning point.
The Ribbon Knight is a work born out of nostalgia for the Takarazuka Revue, as he himself has described it as ``the culmination of the Takarazuka experience.''
Because of this, he seems to have had a strong attachment to it, and has drawn the Ribbon Knight four times (the fourth time was only the original draft). After I finished drawing the final Ribbon Knight, I moved away from girls' manga.
